My inspiration for the holidays is just keeping with the overall tone of our year-round decor. Since we have a boho-chic vibe, I tried to pick items that went along with that same theme. It keeps the aesthetic feeling cohesive, and it was something I'm already comfortable with!

Most things we've bought are gold, white and red! Our chandelier is gold, so the nutcracker at our entryway is also gold. The holidays can be stressful enough. You want your home to feel like a cozy, relaxing space. So, don't try to change up your decor completely. That way, everything ties together.

To dress up our front door, we added gift-wrapped packages to the chairs for a budget-friendly option. We used black and white tones that we love with a punch of color in the bows.

We love having our little pink tree in the foyer. It makes people feel welcome and joyful from the moment they walk in. The stenciled wall adds interest and plays well against the festive decor.

We changed our traditional real Christmas tree for a flocked one, and I’m so in love with it! The flocked detail decorates itself, but I love filling it up with different sized ornaments to give it an elegant look. Start by adding the largest ornaments first then fill in all the gaps working your way down. I also love adding a few statement ornaments like the spikes, white dusted pine cones, sparkly wooded spheres, and polka dot poms. Lastly, to fill in gaps, I cut pieces of a fur roll of ribbon and tuck them into any empty spaces. For me, the more full, the better!

For the flocked Christmas trees, I used pampas grass, wood sticks, and gilded magnolia garland to crown the trees. I loved the simplicity of only decorating the very top of the tree. To me, this feels very fresh, and a bit edgy, and I like that! The large arrangement on the piano included the same materials used in the Christmas trees and banisters to create a harmonious feeling within this environment. It’s a very chic holiday scene that feels airy and light.

For the Christmas Tea party table, I love mixing more delicate china services with current and casual dish sets. All the fun is in the mix of linens and floral arrangements. I love playing with prints, patterns, and finishes. I hang garland and ornaments from the lighting fixtures overhead to create a very special environment. I go to local bakery shops and grocery stores to select fanciful pastries. This saves me lots of time and allows me to concentrate on setting and styling a beautiful table.

For my banister, I wanted to create a bohemian glamour aesthetic. Breaking up the traditional continuous draping of garland, I wanted the garland on my banister to dance about the handrail keeping your eye moving. I love black satin bows and pampas grass and wanted to use gold ivory and champagne colors as well.

Red and Green are not a must. I like to incorporate a balance of some red and green but also a more neutral palette in my living space. I just love Christmas, and I want it to feel like I could live in this winter wonderland all year long! So instead of high contrast colors, I have soft and soothing neutrals with texture and character versus a high punch of color contrast. It allows me to decorate earlier and leave it up longer.

If your room has symmetry and a place for two smaller trees versus one larger tree, give it a try. It is so much fun to go against the grain and double the Christmas fun!

Why not give your bar stools some holiday love? Simply cut some of your favorite ribbons and tie around the back of the stool into a large bow. Then you can get creative with what you may already have. I used a rustic aluminum star and added a holly spring into each ribbon. And voila! Your bar stools are ready to celebrate too! You could even personalize this by adding a star or a tree ornament with your children's names or initials. The possibilities are endless!

After being gifted all of my grandmother's Christmas decor, I wanted to bring a new life to it while preserving the vintage Christmas look & feel I love so much. By mixing both old & new, it allows you to enjoy all of those memories you love while putting your own stamp on it at the same time. The ribbon is one of my favorite ways to add a Christmas touch & just by using some inexpensive satin ribbon; I was able to create a vintage style bow on my tree that really ties everything together.
