Meet designers Michael Ostrow and Roger Stoker of Grace Home Furnishings, where you can shop, place a custom order, or get personalized decorating advice from their team of in-house designers. With two showrooms in Palm Springs Uptown District and Brentwood Village area of LA, Grace Home Furnishings offer graceful and distinctive custom furniture, fabric, and home accessories. The style combines East Coast refinement and Old Hollywood glamour with the comfort of California living.

How have you been able to create a brand name from your store name, Grace Home Furnishings?
Our store is named after our first chocolate brown Labrador retriever, Grace. Grace was the original mascot of the store and perfectly expressed the Grace Home brand – a seemingly effortless style of refined taste and elegance. Since then we have had Gracie and we just welcomed Grace III. Now, in addition to being recognized across the country for excellence in design, we are also known for our adorable chocolate brown Labrador retriever. Our dog appears in all of our advertising and also greets clients at our showrooms.
Running a retail store is not easy. What’s your secret to your success?
We pride ourselves on personalized customer service and attention to detail. We are not just a retail store, but also provide complete interior design services. In addition to the brands we carry, we design and manufacture our own Grace Home Collection© of custom furniture and fabrics.
As a retailer who sells many product categories, where do you see the trends begin?
I think trends begin through what people are seeing around them – hotels, restaurants and online through social media. There is also a strong global influence, as people travel and see things they’d like to incorporate into their own homes.
What excites you about selecting lighting for your clients?
What’s your favorite Crystorama Collection? Why?
We work on design projects across a spectrum of styles – including mid-century modern, Spanish and traditional, so we need a large selection of lighting, which Crystorama provides. We like the Calypso and Dixon collections as they complement a wide range of interiors. Our favorite new collection is the Weston, and in the past the Luna has been one of our best selling chandeliers.
