How to Choose Lighting to Make your Dining Room Shine
The dining room holds a special place in your home. Whether you host many gatherings or prefer an intimate dinner with your family, this space is where you connect with good conversation and food. Adding a light fixture or two sets the mood and personality of the area and makes a statement of your personal style.
The Dining Room chandelier serves two purposes, functionality and aesthetics. There are several factors to keep in mind, like the size and height of the room and the table's dimensions. Choosing the right light does not need to be complicated. We are sharing some tips on selecting the right light and inspiration from some of our favorite dining rooms.
Chandelier MEasurements
In a dining room with 8ft, ceilings hang you'reyou're fixture 30 inches above the table.
Table Sizes:
44”W x 84”L - Chandelier Size 28”-29”
50”W x 102”L - Chandelier Size 30”-32”
60"" round - Chandelier Size 30" " -33""
For elongated table seating with 10-12 people or greater use, two petite chandeliers approximately 22" " -24" W.
Stretch it out
When choosing a Linear style chandelier, the design concept is to accentuate the length of the table. It is essential to stay in the proportion of the fixture so that it does not overwhelm the table.
We recommend the fixture length should be between 1/2 to 2/3 of the table length.
Table Sizes:
Table 42”W x 72”L - Chandelier size 36”-48”
Table 45”W x 84”L - Chandelier size 42”-48”
Table 50” W x 102”L - Chandelier Size 51” -76”
GO MinimalIST
The polished silver linear chandelier enhances the furniture in the room. Remember that you don’t want to overwhelm this refined space with too much clutter when decorating the dining room. Usage of color can make or break dining room designs. For instance, choose light colors for a bright, timeless look.
