Kitchen Island Lighting Ideas that will Upgrade your Look
Put a spotlight where it matters most! The kitchen island is the heart of the home, where everyone spends their time. Plus the bonus of extra seating, storage, and prepping workspace. Whether your look is modern, rustic, farmhouse, or traditional, kitchen islands are becoming an essential kitchen design feature, primarily based on the move to open-concept spaces.
HOW TO HANG PENDANT LIGHTING OVER A KITCHEN ISLAND
Are you feeling confused about the right height and width for hanging a light? The general guideline is to hang the pendant 30-36” above your countertop. If you have a short island (6’-7’ ft wide), use two pendants that are at least 30” inches apart from the center point of the island. If lighting a more oversized island, hang one pendant in the center and then space pendants 30” inches apart. Keep in mind you want the pendant to be at least 6” inches from the edge of the island.
The proper lighting can truly transform the look and feel of the space where you gather most. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite kitchen lighting design ideas for you to explore and get inspired.
